MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />October 25, 1989 <br />It was the concensus of the Council, after discussion <br />of the Park Commission's recommendation, to not acquire <br />the tax forfeited property. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-10-536 - DECLARING THE CONCENSUS OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL NOT TO ACQUIRE THE TAX-FORFEITED <br />PROPERTY ON PARK STREET THE ACQUISITION OF WHICH WAS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE PARK COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, <br />Nays (1) Scalze. <br />Resolution declared <br />Fahey, Collova, LaValle. <br />adopted. <br />QUALITY Scalze reported that due to vandalism problems, Quality <br />ASPHALT Asphalt is requesting that a fence be constructed along <br />FENCE the property line they share with Pioneer Park. <br />Quality Asphalt has offered to pay half the cost of the <br />fence. <br />Scalze reported that the Park Commission has <br />recommended that the fence be installed with Quality <br />Asphalt paying half the cost. Bill Sanders has <br />obtained quotations for the fence, the low quotation <br />received from Modern Design Fence & Manufacturing in <br />the amount of $4,946. Scalze reported that the cost to <br />the City would be $2,188 and the cost to Quality <br />Asphalt would be $2,758. Quality's cost is higher due <br />to some gates they need in the fence. <br />Scalze reported that it has been the intentions of the <br />City to fence this area, and she recommended that the <br />Park Commission's recommendation be accepted. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-10-537 - ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION <br />OF THE PARK COMMISSION FOR FENCING OF THE PROPERTY LINE <br />SHARED WITH PIONEER PARK AND QUALITY ASPHALT AND <br />AWARDING THE LOW BID OF MODERN DESIGN FENCE & <br />MANUFACTURING IN THE AMOUNT OF $4,946.00 <br />Page 33 <br />
