MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />November 8, 1989 <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-11-552 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY TO INVESTIGATE WITH THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA <br />CITIES WHETHER OR NOT THE CITY CAN ADOPT AN ORDINANCE <br />REQUIRING A GREATER PERCENTAGE OF LAWFUL GAMBLING <br />PROCEEDS BE SPENT WITHIN THE CITY'S TRADE AREA AND <br />REQUESTING THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON THIS MATTER <br />AT THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />GAMBLING The City Council reviewed the gamblinq license <br />LICENSE application received from the St. Paul Winter Carnival <br />APPLICATION Titans to hold a gold plate dinner at the Venetian Inn <br />WINTER on Sunday, November 19th. <br />CARNIVAL <br />TITANS Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br /> moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-11-553 - APPROVING THE GAMBLING <br /> LICENSE APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE ST. PAUL WINTER <br /> CARNIVAL TITANS FOR A GOLD PLATE DINNER TO BE HELD AT <br /> THE VENETIAN INN ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 1989 AND <br /> WAIVING THE CITY'S 60-DAY REVIEW PERIOD <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br /> Blesener. <br /> Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br /> Nays (0). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br />STENGER Mr. Bill Stenger, Jr., representing Stenqer Auto Body, <br />CoNCERNS appeared before the Council and reported that as a part <br /> of the Slumberland project, there are three of his <br /> property stakes missing. Stenqer requested that the <br /> City contact Slumberland requesting that the stakes be <br /> replaced. <br />Fahey requested that the Building Inspector send a <br />letter to Slumberland requesting replacement of the <br />property stakes. <br />Page 12 <br />
