MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />November 8, 1989 <br />Stenger then reported that in his discussions with Mr. <br />Paul Kaufman of Slumberland, he was informed that <br />Slumberland would be constructing a 50 foot by 30 foot <br />sign on their property. Stenger was concerned with the <br />size of this sign. <br />Blesener reported that Slumberland had applied for a <br />variance for sign size, however, this was denied by the <br />City. Blesener reported that any sign that Slumberland <br />wants will have to meet the City's sign ordinance <br />requirements. <br />Stenger felt that a large sign would add to the <br />increasing traffic safety problem on Centerville Road <br />pointing out that there has been a dramatic increase in <br />traffic on Centerville Road over the last few years. <br />Stenger was also concerned about traffic speeds on <br />Centerville Road. <br />Blesener reported that the City has attempted to get <br />the speed limit on Centerville Road lowered in the <br />past, however, the County has denied these requests. <br />Stenger reported that he was in the City office the <br />other day and in looking at the Zoning Map was <br />surprised to learn that his property had been rezoned <br />to IP District. <br />Fahey pointed out that that rezoning occurred four <br />years ago, and Mr. Stenger was present at the hearings. <br />Stenger asked how the rezoning effects his property <br />Council noted that the City Planner is most <br />knowledgeable in this topic and suggested that Mr. <br />Stenger meet with the City Planner during staff hours. <br />LITTLE Fahey requested that City staff verify the <br />CANADA amount that the City owes the School District for <br />ELEMENTARY its share in the cost of certain facilities that were <br />SCHOOL part of the Little Canada Elementary School addition, <br />ADDITION and that a check be prepared for this amount for <br />presentation to the School District at the November <br />16th school dedication ceremony. <br />Fahey also reported that the School District would like <br />verification of the final cost of the parking lot and <br />storm sewer improvement so that they might make this <br />payment to the City at the ceremony. <br />Page 13 <br />
