MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />December 27, 1989 <br />Hanson replied that the funds for the new fire station <br />and City Center expansion would not be used. <br />Fahey suggested that a public hearing be called to <br />consider the Country Drive upgrading, and suggested <br />that City staff work on the financing aspects. <br />Scalze suggested that the City Engineer work with Mr. <br />Brueggemann on the elevation issue. <br />Brueggemann reported that it is his intention to be in <br />the ground in March on the first building, and he would <br />need a storm sewer connection in June. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-12-619 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING ON <br />COUNTRY DRIVE ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR FEBRUARY 14, <br />1989 AT 7:30 P.M. AND INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO <br />DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF ASSESSMENT THAT WOULD BE <br />NECESSARY FOR THE PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />CUP FOR Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the <br />375 LITTLE application for Conditional Use Permit to use the <br />CANADA RoAD existing convent building on property zoned <br />Residential/Business as non-retail, commercial offices, <br />as well as off-site parking for 20 vehicles. The <br />request also includes concept approval for future <br />additions of up to 10,000 square feet of non-retail, <br />commercial office space at 375 E. Little Canada Road. <br />Scalze questioned why the City would approve off-site <br />parking if there is space available for a building <br />addition. <br />Fahey pointed out the grade of the property in the back <br />of the building. <br />The applicant, Mr. Burnham Philbrook, reported that due <br />to the soil conditions at the back of the existing <br />building, it may not be feasible to have an addition in <br />that location.
