MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
December 27, 1989
The Planner replied that his education is in landscape
architecture, and his office does this type of review
for other cities.
Scalze asked about the City's landscape ordinance.
The Planner replied that the Ordinance does not require
too much, and agreed that it should be more
substantial.
Scalze felt that Sanders could review the ordinance and
make a recommendation on needed changes. Scalze stated
that she would like to see Sanders do the landscape
reviews, and suggested that the Council take time and
think this suggestion over.
The Council discussed follow up reviews, and the
Planner pointed out that longer term follow up will
mean holding security for a longer period of time, and
suggested that developers will have difficulty getting
bonds for longer than one year periods. However, if a
conditional use permit is based on landscaping, the
matter can be enforced in that manner.
Fahey agreed with Blesener that the suggestion was one
more hoop for developers to jump through, and asked the
City Planner his feelings.
The Planner replied that his office is qualified to do
landscapinq reviews.
Blesener agreed that the landscaping ordinance needed
to be looked at, and suggested that the City Planner
review the Ordinance and make recommendations for
improving it. Blesener felt Sanders should review the
ordinance as well.
Fahey agreed that the Planner and Sanders should review
the ordinance and make recommendations for its
improvement.
VOUCHERS Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 89-12-633 - APPROVING THE VOUCxERS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Page 30
