OWASSO a plan for the development of a 9,000 square foot
& COUNTRY DR. retail/commercial building at the northwest corner of
BOB DEBACE South Owasso Blvd. and Country Drive. DeBace reported
that he is proposing 2' by 6' wood frame construction
rather than block. DeBace described the facade of the
building which included metal siding with decorative
brick facing. DeBace reported that he is also
proposing a metal roof similar to that of the adjacent
building.
Council expressed concern about the amount of inetal
siding proposed, and asked if this proposal met the
requirements of the I-P District.
DeBace pointed out that wood frame construction was
more expensive than block.
Scalze pointed out that the building will have to meet
the requirements of the I-P District.
DeBace pointed out that the building will not look like
a metal building, is more costly than a block building,
and will have a good insulating factor.
Blesener felt that the City Planner should review the
plan to determine if it meets the requirements of the
I-P District.
DeBace stated that he is willing to work within the
requirements of the I-P District and would substitute
exterior panels for portions of the metal siding, if
necessary. Aowever, DeBace pointed out that the metal
siding is maintenance-free, and he is striving to have
a maintenance-free building.
Page 9
