MINUTES CITY COUNCIL January 24, 1990 The Administrator reported that the draft policy has not been approved by the County Board, and a group of City Administrators have a meeting scheduled with County staff to discuss the policy. The Administrator reported that there are some problems and valid concerns, however, not to the extent mentioned by the County. The Administrator also encouraged members of the Council to meet with Mr. Valento to discuss this issue. Blesener stated that he would support Legislation that closed some of the loopholes in the present TIF system, but not to the extent where TIF would no longer be useful. The Council and Administrator discussed the matter further, and the Administrator was instructed to set up a meeting with Representative Valento prior to February 12th. SHERIFF'S The Council discussed the Administrator's CoMMITTEE correspondence reqarding appointment of a liaison to the Ramsey County Sheriff's Committee. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptions RESOLUTION NO. 90-1-42 - APPOINTING JOEL R. HANSON AS THE CITY'S LIAISON REPRESENTATIVE ON THE RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S COMMITTEE The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. Nays (0), Resolution declared adopted. REGIONAL Council reviewed correspondence from the Regional RAILROAD Railroad Authority requesting that the City appoint AUTHORITY two representatives and one alternate to the Northeast Corridor Task Force. Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-1-43 - INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR CITIZENS INTERESTED IN SERVING AS THE CITY'S REPRESENTATIVES ON THE NORTHEAST CORRIDOR TASK FORCE OF THE REGIONAL RAILROAD AUTHORITY Page 20
