MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />February 14, 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, LaValle, Collova, Fahey, <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />MINIMUM LoT Fahey pointed out recent information received from the <br />DEPTH City of Vadnais Heights regarding their minimum lot <br />depth requirement. <br />Council discussed whether the City should consider <br />amending the ordinance to establish a minimum lot depth <br />requirement with Fahey pointing out the recent variance <br />request the Council considered on Valento Lane because <br />of the difficulty to build on some lots that had only a <br />100-foot depth, <br />It was pointed out there is very little residential <br />land left in the City to plat, and it was the concensus <br />of the Council when any residential property is <br />platted, the developer be made aware that if lots <br />having 100 foot depths are approved, the Council will <br />not consider variance requests from setback <br />requirements. <br />METRO EAST Fahey noted the request of the Metro East Development <br />DEVELOPMENT Partnership for City participation in 1990 at a cost <br />PARTNERSHIP of $1,000. Council suggested that the request be <br />tabled for two weeks, and the Administrator ask <br />Business Development Services their opinion on whether <br />or not it would be beneficial for the City to continue <br />its participation in this group. <br />ISSUES Council concensus was to table the scheduling of an <br />WoRKSHOP issues workshop meeting until Blesener returns. <br />OPTICON Fahey reported that the Fire Department wants an <br />SYSTEM Opticon System installed on the traffic signal at <br />RICE & Rice Street and Little Canada Road for westbound <br />LITTLE utilization. The Fire Department is willing to pay for <br />CANADA ROAD this system. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-2-86 - APPROVING THE INSTALLATION OF <br />AN OPTICON SYSTEM ON THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT RICE STREET <br />AND LITTLE CANADA ROAD WITH TAE UNDER5TANDING THAT THE <br />Page 19 <br />
