MINUTES City Council February 28, 1990 hearing was closed. Mr. Collova introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-2-95 - DENYING THE VARIANCE REQUEST SUBMITTED BY SHERMAN-BOOSALIS COMPANY TO THE CITY'S SIGN ORDINANCE FOR A THIRD PYLON SIGN AT THE RICE AT C CENTER SINCE THE REQUEST DOES NOT MEET THE STANDARDS OF THE ORDINANCE FOR VARIANCES The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (5) Collova, Fahey, Scalze, Blesener, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Planner recommended that if going to consider amending the sign provide a conditional use permit for free-standing signs, that a rigorous be included in the ordinance to give capacity for denial. the Council is ~rdinance to additional set of standards the City the Council suggested that the Planner survey other cities about this matter. Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-2-96 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY PLANNER TO SURVEY OTHER CITIES REGARDING ADDITIONAL FREE-STANDING SIGNS WHERE THERE ARE MULTIPLE BUILDINGS AT SHOPPING CENTER5 AND INSTRUCTING THE PLANNER TO REPORT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION ON THIS MATTER SEEKING THEIR RECOMMENDATION The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Collova, Blesener, Scalze. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. PUBLIC Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the HEARING application for a subdivision sketch plan review and 177 EAST concept Planned Unit Development to allow the COUNTY RD.B development of twenty-two single-family lots and twenty-six rambler-type townhouse lots at 177 East County Road B by Gordie Howe Real Estate.
