MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />March 28, 1990 <br />coverage provided by the firms with the concensus o£ <br />the Council that additional liability coverage would <br />not be pursued. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-3-146 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO CONTRACT WITH GME CONSULTANTS FOR SOIL <br />BORINGS FOR THE FIRE STATION AND CITY CENTER SITES AT A <br />COST OF $2,275.00, AND ACCEPTING THE LIMITED LIABILITY <br />COVERAGE LIMITS OF $20,000 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova, <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />ST. JUDE Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the <br />MEDICAL application submitted by St. Jude Medical to amend <br />AMEND PUD their Planned Unit Development Agreement to allow <br />construction of a second phase building. Fahey pointed <br />out the Planning Commission's recommendation for <br />approval. <br />Mr. Bob Burrow, representing St. Jude Medical, appeared <br />before the Council reporting that St. Jude is proposing <br />to construct an addition of 72,000 square feet. Burrow <br />reported that the existinq access to the site would <br />remain the same. Burrow also described St. Jude's <br />plans for increasing the parking area reporting that <br />Code requires 454 parking spaces and 470 will be <br />provided. St. Jude is also proposing a fence within <br />the 100 foot buffer area. Burrow explained that this <br />buffer area was established in 1980, and the fence is <br />being proposed for reasons of security and control. <br />The fence will follow contour lines and will be worked <br />around existing trees. The fence will be chain-link <br />and 8 feet in eight. <br />Burrow reported that St. Jude is proposing some trails <br />be improved within the site for the use of its <br />employees. The existing pond will be dredged out so <br />that it can be kept fresh and clean. A complete storm <br />water system is proposed with catch basins and <br />collectors, and this will be worked through with the <br />Watershed. <br />Burrow described the proposed fascade of the building <br />Page 13 <br />
