MINUTES CITY COUNCIL April 11, 1990 CANADIAN DAYS Council reviewed the application of the Canadian Days GAMBLING Committee for a gambling license to hold a gold plate PERMIT dinner at the Venetian Inn on Sunday, May 20th. It was noted that sheriff's reports are pending. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 90-4-189 - APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GAMBLING PERMIT SUBMITTED BY THE CANADIAN DAYS COMMITTEE TO AOLD A GOLD PLATE DINNER AND RAFFLE AT THE VENETIAN INN ON SUNDAY, MAY 20, 1990 CONTINGENT UPON RECEIPT OF A SATISFACTORY POLICE AND WAIVING THE CITY'S 60-DAY REVIEW PERIOD AS WELL AS NOTING THAT THE SALE OF PULL TABS IS NOT ALLOWED AS A PART OF THIS GAMBLING PERMIT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (4) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Collova asked the status of hiring a Canadian Days Coordinator. The Administrator reported that the Canadian Days Committee will be discussing the issue of salary at their meeting tomorrow evening. Once that issue has been resolved, the applicants will be contacted to determine if they are still interested in the position. CENSUS The Council reviewed the report of the 1990 Census COMPLETE Complete Count Committee and instructed City staff CoUNT send thank-you letters to the groups who participated COMMITTEE in the door-knocker distribution and certificates of appreciation to the members of the Committee. VOUCHERS Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-4-190 - APPROVING TI-IE VOUCHERS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Collova. Ayes (4) LaValle, Collova, Scalze, Blesener. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CLEAN-UP DAY It was noted that a park clean-up day has been scheduled for Saturday, April 21st, and Cub Scout PA~E 24
