MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />May 9, 1990 <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF <br />OF THE RECYCLING <br />POSTING A BOND I <br />ENGINEER FOR THE <br />MR. FRATTALONE'S <br />DUST <br />A TIMEFRAME FOR PERMANENT CURTAILMENT <br />OPERATION SUBJECT TO MR. FRATTALONE'S <br />V AN AMOUNT SATISFACTORY TO THE CITY <br />CITY'S WATERMAIN AND ROAD AS WELL AS <br />TAKING ADEQUATE MEASURES TO CONTROL <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (1) Scalze. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />RECESS At this point in the meeting, 8:50 P.M., Council took a <br />short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:00 P.M. <br />SAXON Mr. John Schwartz, representing Saxon Lanes, appeared <br />LANES-HOURS before the Council requesting that the Saxon bowling <br />OF OPERATION lanes be allowed to be open 24 hours per day. <br />Blesener pointed out that there has been an increase in <br />the number of incidents in the parking lot o£ the Saxon <br />and asked if the increased hours would effect this <br />situation. <br />Schwartz suggested that the <br />resolve some of the problem <br />congestion when patrons are <br />time. <br />increased hours may help <br />since there will be less <br />not all leaving at the same <br />Blesener pointed out that the City's cost of police <br />protection is based on number of police calls, and the <br />City is looking for ways to reduce these calls. <br />Blesener asked how the Saxon could help in policing <br />their own parking lot to try and control the number of <br />incidents. <br />Schwartz replied that the Saxon could have their <br />doormen police the parking lot, however, suggested that <br />allowing the Saxon to remain open 24 hours will help <br />resolve the problem. <br />Scalze pointed out that in the past the City has <br />required liquor establishments to provide security <br />people in their parking lots. Scalze suggested that if <br />the problem persists, this would be a solution. <br />Collova stated that he had no problem with the bowling <br />alley remaining open 24 hours and asked if the Saxon <br />would serve food 24 hours. <br />Page 14 <br />
