MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />May 9, 1990 <br />Schwartz replied that the snack bar would not remain <br />open 24 hours. <br />Council asked if there were any restrictions that would <br />not allow amusement video games to be operated 24 <br />hours. <br />The City Attorney replied that the Ordinance does not <br />restrict the hours during which amusement video games <br />can be operated, however, the Council has the authority <br />to place additional conditions on an amusement license. <br />Fahey felt that since there have been no problems with <br />the Saxon's amusement center, that there was no need to <br />restrict the operation of the video games at this time. <br />It was the concensus of the Council to allow the 24 <br />hour operation of the Saxon Lanes, including its <br />amusement video game center, for a period of six months <br />with a review by the Council at that time to address <br />any problems that may come up. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-5-236 - APPROVING THE INCREASE IN <br />HOURS OF OPERATION FOR SAXON LANES, INCLUDING AMUSEMENT <br />VIDEO GAME ROOM, TO 24 HOURS PER DAY BASED ON THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S LETTER DATED MAY 4, 1990 FOR A PERIOD <br />OF SIX MONTHS WITH COUNCIL REVIEW AT THE END OF THAT <br />TIME FOR THE CONTINUED 24-HOUR OPERATION, WITH THE <br />UNDERSTANDING THAT THE SAXON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR <br />POLICING AND ENFORCING THE CURFEW ORDINANCE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />SLUMBERLAND Mr. Brent Thompson, representing Slumberland, appeared <br />WATERMAIN before the Council requesting that the City's watermain <br />EXTENSION be extended to serve the new addition planned by <br />Slumberland. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-5-237 - INSTRUCTING AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE A FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR <br />THE EXTENSION OF CITY WATERMAIN FOR THE PURPOSES OF <br />SERVING AN ADDITION TO THE SLUMBERLAND BUILDING <br />Page 15 <br />
