MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />May 23, 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Council noted that even though the public hearing has <br />been closed, anyone from the general public wishing to <br />comment on this matter at the June 27th Council meetinq <br />will be heard. <br />CENTRE PLACE Fahey reported that the Council, City Engineer and City <br />GRADING PLAN staff has looked at the grading of the Centre Place <br />residential development and is working on a plan to <br />minimize the effect of this grading on adjacent_ <br />properties. <br />The City Engineer reported that he has meet with the <br />developer and reviewed the concerns of adjacent <br />property owners with the grading of Centre Place. The <br />developer has gone back to his builder and reviewed <br />these concerns, which are to lower the grade to more <br />closely resemble the previous elevations. The <br />developer is researching with the builder whether <br />lowering the grades will effect the builder's ability <br />to develop walk-out homes. <br />The City Engineer reported that the City is asking that <br />the grades be lowered 2 to 4 feet and, as a result, the <br />grade of the street will have to be lowered somewhat. <br />Cost estimates for the regrading are being put together <br />and the developer's engineer is putting together a new <br />grading plan which should be submitted for City review <br />early next week. The Engineer reported that he will <br />review the revised grading plan to see if it meets the <br />City's needs, and, if so, it will be enacted. <br />Collova asked who will pay for the regrading. <br />The City Administrator replied that the City will have <br />to bear the additional cost of regrading since the City <br />has an approved grading plan for the property. <br />However, there is the possibility of assessing the cost <br />back against the project. This is a policy issue the <br />Council will have to address. <br />Fahey stated that it was his feeling <br />should pay the regrading costs since <br />should have been more tuned into the <br />suggested that the additional cost c <br />from excess TIF funds.
