MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 12, 1990
plan review period for the City, and suggested that it
would be possible to conduct the City's review quickly
speeding up the process. Another potential time
savings would be having a separate bid package for
grading and excavation. This is currently under
consideration.
Fahey asked if the City's two week review period took
into account that the City may have some design
ooncerns.
The City Administrator pointed out that the City has
been involved in the design process all along,
therefore, no last minute surprises are anticipated.
The Administrator also reported that the City has final
review of all design documents. The Administrator
sugqested that once the plans are ready, the Council
may want to hold a special meeting to review them.
The Administrator also reported that initial estimates
for the projects are being put together, and they are
close to the budget amounts without the use of
contingency amounts. This includes brick facia for the
City Center building. The Administrator also reported
that the City Aall and Fire Station projects will be
bid as one package, with separate bids amounts for each
building. In this way the City can realize the economy
of scale resulting from combining the two projects and
can also pick and choose the various bids which are
most beneficial to us. The Administrator reported that
each project is at about the same phase, and one
project is not causing the delay of the other.
The Administrator reported that there is meeting set up
for Monday at 3:30 P.M. to go over cost estimates, with
hopefully a second meeting later in the week. Jim
Morelan and the Building Inspector have been invited to
attend that meeting.
Blesener indicated an interest in attending the meeting
as well.
MCNAMARA Blesener requested that Public Works redo the fence
HOUSE surrounding the McNamara basement on the new fire
station site. Blesener reported that the area was
poorly fenced.
BUSINESS Council reviewed the City Administrator's letter dated
LICENSING June 7, 1990 regarding the City's business licensing
POLICY poliCy.
Page 15
