MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 12, 1990 <br />Scalze asked how the Fire Department kept current <br />building content information on the various businesses <br />in the City. <br />Fahey reported that the Sheriff's Department has the <br />numbers of alarm key holders on file for each business <br />in the City. This information is of importance to the <br />Fire Department, while building aontent information is <br />the concern of the Fire Inspector, and should be <br />controlled by the Fire Inspector and not through the <br />City's business licensing. <br />Fahey stated that he could see the merits to licensinq <br />certain businesses suah as auto-related businesses. <br />Fahey suggested that the Administrator continue his <br />study of the matter and come back with a recommendation <br />on which businesses the City should be licensing as <br />well as license fees. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-6-279 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO CONTINUE TO STUDY THE ISSUE OF <br />BUSINESS LICENSING AND RECOMMEND TO THE COUNCIL TYPES <br />OF BUSINESSES WAICH THE CITY SHOULD LICENSE AS WELL AS <br />VARIOUS LICENSE FEES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Fahey, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Administrator noted that if it is the Council's <br />desire to not continue to license all businesses within <br />the City, an ordinance revision will be necessary <br />eliminating the general business license. <br />Fahey suggested that the ordinance revision be handled <br />when the Administrator makes his recommendation on <br />business licensing, <br />RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:10 P.M., Council took a <br />short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:15 P.M. <br />ADULT BOOK Council reviewed the correspondence from the City <br />STORES Planner on the issue of zoning revisions to regulate <br />adult book stores.
