MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 12, 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />PIONEER PARK Council reviewed the Administrator's letter dated June <br />ARCHITECT 5, 1990 regarding the request of RVK Architects to <br />FEES reduce the City's retainage on Pioneer Park architect <br />fees to 10% of the contract amount. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-6-283 - APPROVING TAE REDUCTION IN <br />RETAINAGE ON PIONEER PARK ARCHITECT FEES FOR RVK <br />ARCHITECTS TO 10% OF THE PROJECT AMOUNT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />SHERIFF'S Fahey reported that he has discussed with the City <br />CONTRACT Administrator the on-going discussions with the <br />Sheriff's Department regarding the formula change for <br />assessing police protection costs. Fahey felt that <br />given the increasing police protection costs plus the <br />reduction in State-Aid, the City should look at options <br />for reducing police protection costs. Some of these <br />options include reducing the police protection coverage <br />the City currently receives; contraoting for police <br />protection services with an adjacent city; creating the <br />City's own police force using the old fire station site <br />as a police station and utilizing the County's <br />dispatching services. <br />Fahey suggested that a sub-committee be formed to study <br />this situation and come back to the Council with a <br />recommendation. <br />Scalze agreed that the alternatives needed to be <br />explored. Scalze stated that she was very concerned <br />with the change in cost assessment formula being <br />proposed. Scalze pointed out that the proposal is to <br />use the number of incidents as a factor in determining <br />costs. Scalze pointed out that the City of North Oaks <br />has no trespassing signs posted at its entrances, while <br />traffic from North Oaks and other cities travels <br />through Little Canada.
