MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 27, 1990
LANDSCAPE
ORDINANCE
RESOLUTION NO. 90-6-307 - ACCEPTING THE CITY ENGINEER'S
FEASIBILITY REPORT ON THE SLUMBERLAND/DESOTO STREET
WATERMAIN EXTENSION AND INSTRUCTING STAFF TO PRESENT
THE REPORT TO SLUMBERLAND FOR THEIR COMMENTS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) Collova, Blesener, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
The City Engineer pointed out that the Building
Inspector and Fire Chief are concerned about fire
safety and looping the City's watermain system provides
greater fire protection.
Scalze pointed out that there is a portion of the
DeSoto Street watermain improvement that would run past
power line property. This property could not be
assessed, therefore, there is less front footage to use
in calculating the assessment. Scalze also pointed out
that the City did not force the watermain system to be
looped in the Viking Drive area.
It was the concensus of the Council to table discussion
of the proposed Landscape Ordinance until the July 25th
Council meeting.
ADULT BOOK The City Planner reported that he is completing his
STORE research on the issue of an ordinance regulating adult
ORDINANCE book stores. This matter will be ready for Council
review on July 25th.
MN STREET The City Planner reported that there is a property at
PROPERTY the end of Minnesota Street that is located just beyond
ASSESSMENT the end of the street. This property was assessed for
the street improvement, however, it has no access to
the street. The Planner felt there were two options in
this situation, either the City could extend the
cul-de-sac to provide street access which he was not
sure was possible due to the topography of the area, or
the City could rebate the assessment.
The Council instructed the City Administrator to study
the issue and make a recommendation to the Council.
CITY The City Administrator reported that two quotations
NEWSLETTER have been received for printing of the City's
Page 25
