MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 11, 1990 <br />COMBINING Council reviewed the letter from the City of Maplewood <br />CITY SERVICES suggesting that the issue of combining, merging or <br />extending city services be explored. <br />Mr. Collova introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTiON NO. 90-7-323 - ADOPTING THE SAME RESOLUTION <br />ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF MAPLEWOOD WHICH DECLARES STAFF <br />OF THE CITIES OF LITTLE CANADA, MAPLEWOOD, AND NORTH <br />ST. PAUL WORK TOGETHER FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF MERGING <br />CERTAIN SERVICES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Collova, LaValle, Fahey, Scalze, Blesener. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />RECEPTIONIST The City Administrator reported that the City received <br />POSITION 38 applications for the full-time receptionist position <br />that was recently advertised. Of the 38 applicants, 12 <br />were given clerical tests, and of those tested, there <br />were 7 finalists for the position. The finalists were <br />interviewed, and it was the Administrator's <br />recommendation that Stacy Urban be offered the <br />receptionist position at a salary of $7.00 per hour. <br />Urban could begin working for the City within the next <br />week. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-7-324 - AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF <br />STACY URBAN AS FULL-TIME RECEPTIONIST AT A SALARY OF <br />$7.00 PER HOUR SUBJECT TO A SIX-MONTH PROBATIONARY <br />PERIOD <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />CANADIAN Fahey reviewed the Fire Chief's recommendation that <br />DAYS - Canadian Days fire works display be held at the Gervais <br />FIRE WORKS Beach area versus Spooner Park. <br />PERMIT <br />Page 8 <br />
