MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 25, 1990
Mr. Anderson stated he is proposing to fence the west
property line from the end of Jackson Street to their
northern driveway. Anderson pointed out, however, that
if the property owners preferred, he would landscape
the west side of the parking lot and pool rather than
install a fence.
Dorn stated that he would prefer not to see the parking
lot.
Blesener pointed out that there is a gravel parking lot
located on the west side of the property which is not
shown on the site plan.
Dorn indicated that he can see this parking lot from
his home and was concerned about its appearance as well
as the debris in this area.
Anderson reported that this parking lot is overflow
employee parking that is used during their peak season.
The City Planner reported that Code requires the
parking lot to be paved and curbed. The lot currently
does not meet City standards.
Dorn expressed concern that the gazebo, pool and gravel
parking lot were all improved on the property without
benefit of a permit.
Council asked how much parking area the Code would
allow on a property.
The Planner replied that the Code does not provide for
maximum lot coverage, except prohibits parking area
within the five foot setback requirement.
Anderson stated that if required, he will pave the
parking area, however, prefers it to be gravel pointing
out that it is only used by seasonal employees.
Anderson also reported that there would need to be an
opening in the fence to provide access to the gravel
parking lot.
Scalze sugqested access be via a driveway from the
northern parking lot.
The Planner pointed out that that would result in a
long dead-end driveway.
Mr. Griebler, resident of the area, asked if there
would be a timetable for installation of fencing.
Page 14
