MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 25, 1990 <br />TRANSFER OF <br />LIQUOR <br />LICENSE - <br />MGM <br />DeBace reported that he had first looked at the <br />possibility of developing duplexes along DeSoto, <br />however, felt that single-family homes would be better <br />for the area. <br />Scalze pointed out that the property is not zoned for <br />duplexes, but rather sinqle-family development. <br />Blesener pointed out that the lot sizes proposed are <br />more beneficial to the City than larger lots. <br />Fahey pointed out that previous concern about lots <br />sizes was raised in the Gervais Lake and Dianna Lane <br />neighborhoods. Fahey pointed out that the area under <br />consideration this evening is developed with older <br />homes and smaller lots. <br />Costa asked if it were possible to change the name of <br />DeSoto Street to Costa Street in honor of his family <br />who has owned the property for many years. <br />The City Administration suggested that staff study the <br />issue of renaminq the street. <br />Council requested that the Administrator's <br />recommendation on the assessment issue be ready for the <br />Council's review prior to the August 22nd public <br />hearing on the Costa Estates preliminary plat. <br />Council reviewed the application for transfer of MGM <br />Liquor Warehouse off-sale liquor license to Canterbury <br />Investments. <br />The Administrator reported that the transfer involves a <br />stock transfer between existing shareholders. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-7-348 - APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF THE <br />OFF-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE FROM MGM LIQUOR WAREHOUSE TO <br />CANTERBURY INVESTMENTS SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF <br />SATISFACTORY SHERIFF'S REPORTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5).Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Page 20 <br />
