MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JULY 25, 1990 CELEBRATE MN Scalze reported that Bill Sanders has obtained a price for installation of banner poles that are part of the Celebrate MN project. SKS Electric has submitted an informal bid of $1,565. The poles will be installed prior to Canadian Days. Eventually the banner poles will be converted into light poles. Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-7-359 - AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF BANNER POLES BY SKS ELECTRIC AT A COST OF $1,565.00 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. FAHEY Fahey requested the City initiate action to vacate a SNOW FENCE snow fence easement on his property. Fahey reported EASEMENT that he is selling the property and the easement is a cloud on the title. The City Administrator reported that this is an old easement which originated in the days of the township. The City Attorney indicated that he sees no reason to retain the easement. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-7-360 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR WEDNESDAY~ AUGUST 22~ 1990 TO CONSIDER VACATION OF A SNOW FENCE EASEMENT ON TAE FAHEY PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF LABORE ROAD AND ARCADE STREET AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO WRITE A LETTER INDICATING THAT THE COUNCIL HAS TAKEN THIS ACTION The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. Nays (0). Abstains (1) Fahey. Resolution declared adopted. CITY CENTER Council reviewed a letter from Boarman & Associates FXPANSION regarding smoke detector/fire alarm system for the City Center. Council noted that the architect has indicated that these systems are not included in the contract. Page 29
