MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 25, 1990
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 90-7-342 - APPROVING THE REZONING OF
PROPERTY FROM GENERAL BUSINESS (B-3) TO PUBLIC (P) TO
ACCOMMODATE A NEW FIRE STATION AT TAE NORTHEAST
INTERSECTION OF CENTERVILLE ROAD AND LITTLE CANADA ROAD
The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (4) Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, Collova.
Nays (o).
Resolution declared adopted.
PRELIMINARY Fahey opened the public hearing to consider approval of
PLAT - GREEN of a preliminary plat for the property located along
VALUE ADD. Little Canada Road approximately 250 feet west of
Edgerton to be known as the Green Value Addition.
Fahey pointed out that the Planning Commission has
recommended approval of the preliminary plat subject to
the recommendations of the City Planner as well as a
study of drainage of the area. Fahey pointed out that
the City Engineer and City Staff have raised concerns
about containment of water from the plat and
installation of storm sewer on the property itself, so
that run-off is not increased at the corner of Edgerton
and Little Canada Road.
Scalze reported that adjacent property owners in the
area are concerned because there is currently run-off
from Little Canada Road flowing down Schletty Road, and
these property owners do not want to see this run-off
increased.
The City Engineer reported that there is storm sewer at
the intersection of Little Canada Road and Edgerton.
This storm sewer will have to be extended to pick up
the newly proposed street. The Engineer reported that
if the Green Value Addition drains towards Little
Canada Road, the run-off will have to be picked up at
Little Canada Road.
Collova asked if a pipe would have to be extended on
the north side of Little Canada Road to the
intersection of Little Canada Road and Edgerton.
The City Engineer replied that this is one option.
Another is to run storm sewer on the south side of the
road. The Engineer stated that the situation needs to
be looked at in more detail. The Engineer reported
that currently run-off flows down Little Canada Road to
Page 7
