MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 22, 1990 <br />City be contacted to get their input on whether or not <br />the City should retain the old Fire Station site. <br />Collova pointed out that the gas tank at the old Fire <br />Station will have to be removed. <br />The City Administrator agreed that new EPA regulations <br />will have to be met. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-8-392 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO UNDERTAKE A STUDY REQUESTING INPUT <br />FROM VARIOUS CITY ORGANIZATIONS ADVISING THE CITY OF <br />POTENTIAL AND SPECIFIC USES FOR THE OLD FIRE STATION <br />BUILDING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey stated that it was his opinion that the new City <br />Center expansion should not be built to accommodate a <br />community center. <br />Scalze pointed out that in the City's 1988 survey 670 <br />of those surveyed favored a community room at the City <br />Center. <br />Council decided that this issue will be addressed at <br />the proposed workshop at which bids will be presented <br />for the City Center expansion. <br />SPECIAL The City Administrator suggested that the Council call <br />MEETING - a special meeting to consider bids recieved for the new <br />BID REVIEW Fire Station and City Center expansion projects. <br />Collova reported that he had a complaint from a local <br />contractor that he was not given adequate notice of the <br />request for bids. <br />The City Administrator reported that the advertisement <br />for bids has been out for a couple of weeks. The <br />Administrator also reported that as part of the <br />selection of Kraus-Anderson as construction manager, <br />one goal was to involve more local contractors in the <br />process.
