MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 30, 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Beckwith continued his review of City Center bids <br />recommending awarding the low bids except for the <br />following: <br />Carpentry/Labor, Finish Carpentry/Labor, Hollow Metal <br />Frames, Wood Doors, Finish Hardware - The low bid was <br />incomplete, therefore, Beckwith recommended that the <br />next low bid be awarded. <br />Finish/Carpentry/Materials - Beckwith recommended <br />withholding the awarding of this bid at this time. <br />A itemized breakdown is needed to ensure that the <br />bids are complete with the entire section. <br />Shingles/Labor - No bids were received for this item. <br />It will be rebid. <br />Caulking & Sealants - The low bid was incomplete as <br />as it did not include windows. Therefore, it was <br />recommended that the next low bid be awarded. <br />Aollow Metal Frames, Finish Hardware - The low bid <br />was incomplete. Therefore, it was recommended that <br />the next low bid be awarded. <br />Wood Folding Doors - The low bid included a <br />non-specified door. Therefore, it was recommended <br />that the next low bid be awarded. <br />Gypsum Drywall - The low bid was not complete, <br />therefore, it was recommended that the next low bid <br />be awarded. <br />Resilient Flooring - It was recommended that no award <br />of this section be made, and it be included with the <br />Carpeting Section. A combination of Resislient <br />Flooring and Carpeting Sections results in Pink <br />Companies having the low bid. <br />In discussing the bids received for Operable Wall, the <br />Council discussed the option of an operable wall <br />dividing the conference rooms from the Council Chambers <br />versus solid wall. Blesener calculated an additional <br />cost for an operable wall with a STC rating of 49 <br />versus a solid wall. However, Council felt that an STC <br />Page 5 <br />
