MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 12, 1990 <br />walls, and it was the consensus of the Council for a <br />movable wall between the two small conference rooms. <br />Therefore, the issue left to resolve was whether there <br />is a movable wall or sheetrock wall between the two <br />small conference rooms and the Council Chambers. <br />Council asked the cost difference for a movable wall <br />versus sheetrock wall separating the two small <br />conference rooms a~d Council Chambers. <br />It was determined that the cost of a movable wall <br />between the conference rooms and Council Chambers would <br />be approximately $7,000 more than a sheetrock wall. <br />This assumes a movable wall with a STC rating of 50 to <br />53. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to go with the <br />movable wall. The low bidder for Section <br />#10652-Operable Wall was Mahin Walz in the amount of <br />$13,554.00. <br />Beckwith pointed out that there will be some sheetrock <br />partitioning necessary and this was inoluded in the low <br />bid of Aladdin Drywall under Section 092600-Gypsum <br />Drywall. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-9-415 - ACCEPTING AND AWARDING THE <br />LOW BIDS FOR THE CITY CENTER EXPANSION PROJECT FOR <br />SECTION 10652-OPERABLE WALL SUBMITTED BY MAHIN WALZ IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $13,554.00 AS RECOMMENDED BY <br />KRAUS-ANDERSON, AND IN THE EVENT THAT AFTER FURTHER <br />ANALYSIS THIS BID PROVES NOT TO BE LOW, THE MATTER COME <br />BACK TO THE COUNCIL FOR FURTHER RECOMMENDATION, AND <br />SUBJECT TO REMOVAL OF THE INDEMNIFICATION CLAUSE FOR <br />HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FROM THE CONTRACTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Blesener, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Beckwith requested authorization to use the firm of <br />Carley-Torgerson to do the staking for the Fire Station <br />and City Center addition. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced <br />moved its adoption: <br />Page <br />the following resolution and <br />7 <br />
