MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 24, 1990
DeBace suggested that the Bruehn property assessment
could be deferred until such time as he divides his
property.
Fahey stated that the City
deferments since the other
then pick up the burden.
does not look favorably on
taxpayers in the City must
The Planner pointed out that Costa Lane will not run
north unless Mr. Bruehn is willing to give up an
easement for road right-of-way.
Scalze suggested that the Vanderbie extension be moved
further to the south so that it does not abutt the
Bruehn property.
Bruehn was concerned with access for the properties to
the north, and felt that Costa Lane should go all the
way through to Allen Avenue.
Blesener pointed out that if the Vanderbie extension
went through and Costa Lane was extended with a
cul-de-sac, the Bruehn property would be assessed for
just its frontage on the cul-de-sac, and not the long
side of the property.
Fahey s~ated that he was hard-pressed to tell a
developer that he cannot put a road on his own
property.
DeBace again pointed out that Costa Lane will not be
improved right away. DeBace asked for approval of the
preliminary plat as presented and suggested that if
there is interest in the road running north, that could
still happen. DeBace stated that the DeSoto Street
lots will probably be developed first. However, DeBace
felt that it would be a long time before the bankruptcy
situation is resolved and all the easements to the
north acquired.
Collova stated that he felt Costa Lane should be run to
the north.
