MINUTES CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 28, 1990 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (4) Blesener, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. 1991 The City Administrator reviewed the proposed 1991 SHERIFF'S Sheriff's Contract. Little Canada's costs are CONTRACT $433,992.50, which is a 15.5% increase over 1990 costs. The Administrator described the formula that was used to determine Little Canada's share, pointing out that the formula has been changed from that used in the past, and 1991 reflects only a half-change in the formula, with the full change scheduled for 1992. Fahey pointed out that the City Administrator was part of a committee which studied costs as well as formulas used, and the contract before the Council this evening is the best that could be accomplished in a bad situation. Little Canada voted against the formula change, however was out-voted. Fahey also pointed out that the contract provides for a third lieutenant, which Fahey stated that he opposed. Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-11-534 - APPROVING THE 1991 SHERIFF'S CONTRACT AS PROPOSED, CONTRACT AMOUNT $433,992.50 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Collova. SHERIFF'S Fahey reported that the Sheriff's Department is OVERTIME proposing to buy-out overtime which has been accrued BUY-OUT by its deputies. Little Canada's share is approximately $9,500. The City Administrator reported that the City does not have a lot of choice in this matter. The Administrator reported that the proposal before the Council is not a total buy-out, however, he was not sure how much overtime would still be on the books. The Administrator felt that this buy-out was better handled in the City's 1990 budget than the 1991. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Page 15
