MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />February 13, 1991 <br />BACHMEIER The Mayor reported that on February 12th the Economic <br />PROJECT Development Committee met and reviewed the proposed <br />development of the Grieman property by the Bachmeier <br />Corporation as well as the developer's request for Tax <br />Increment Financing for this project. It was the <br />consensus of the Committee that the project should be <br />approved and that a development agreement should be <br />drawn up with the Bachmeier Corporation. <br />Scalze noted that the initial development proposal for <br />the Grieman property involved single-family homes, then <br />a proposal was presented by the EMC Corporation for a <br />$4 million project. The Bachmeier project now being <br />considered is a$15 million project. <br />The City Administrator reported that the next step <br />would be to prepare an amendment to the TIF plan and <br />negotiate a development agreement with the Bachmeier <br />Corporation. The costs associated with these steps <br />would be the initial responsibility of the developer. <br />Should the project be successful, certain costs would <br />then be reimbursed by the TIF District. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-2-62 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR AND CITY STAFF TO PREPARE THE NECESSARY <br />AMENDMENT TO THE TAX INCREMENT PLAN FOR THE BACHMEIER <br />PROJECT AS WELL AS NEGOTIATE A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT <br />WITH BACHMEIER CORPORATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />ADULT HIGH At the request of School District #623, Mayor Hanson <br />SCHOOL DAY proclaimed March 14, 1991 as Adult High School Day. <br />CITY LOBBY Hanson reminded the Council that February 20th is City <br />DAY Lobby Day. <br />TEMPORARY Hanson reported that he has been contacted by a <br />SIGNS shopping center owner in the City requesting that the <br />Council take action to allow businesses to use <br />temporary signs on a more frequent basis than what is <br />allowed by the City's Sign Ordinance. Hanson pointed <br />that the shopping center has an accounting business <br />which relies heavily on advertising during tax time. <br />Hanson suggested that given the economics of the time, <br />Pana 15 <br />
