MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />February 13, 1991 <br />Blesener noted that later this evening the Council will <br />be considering a gambling ordinance revision. Blesener <br />pointed out that currently the City does not require <br />those organizations holding gold plate dinners to be <br />subject to the 10% donation requirement and the 500 <br />trade area requirement that other organizations holding <br />gambling licenses are subject to. Blesener noted that <br />State Law says that organizations conducting gambling <br />must be treated equally. However, Blesener suggested <br />that this discussion be delayed for later in the <br />meeting. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-2-50 - APPROVING THE EXEMPTION FROM <br />LAWFUL GAMBLING LICENSE SUBMITTED BY THE LINO LAKES <br />LIONS CLUB FOR A GOLD PLATE DINNER TO BE HELD AT THE <br />VENETIAN INN ON SUNDAY, APRIL 21, 1991 SUBJECT TO <br />RECEIPT OF SATISFACTORY SHERIFF'S REPORTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Hanson, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />EXTENSION Council reviewed the request of Edward and Sara Jane <br />OF LOT SPLIT Strecker for extension of their lot split approval for <br />APPROVAL their property at 329 Savage Lane. <br />STRECKER <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-2-51 - GRANTING A 100-DAY EXTENTION <br />OF LOT SPLIT APPROVAL AS REQUESTED BY EDWARD AND SARA <br />JANE STRECKER FOR THE PROPERTY AT 329 SAVAGE LANE <br />SUBJECT TO THE PAYMENT OF ANY OUTSTANDING FEES WITH <br />REGARD TO TxI5 APPLICATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, 5calze, Collova, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />ADULT USE Council discussed the establishment of a license fee <br />BUSINESSES for adult use businesses with Scalze questioning the <br />LICENSE FEE legality of setting a$10,000 fee, similar to that <br />already in existence for massage parlors, when the <br />Supreme Court will not allow cities to restrict these <br />businesses to less than 5% of the City. <br />Page 3 <br />
