MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 22, 1991
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-5-185 - APPROVING AND ACCEPTSNG THE
LOW BIDS OF MODERN FENCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,309 FOR
FENCING AT THE FIRE STATION SITE, MARGOLIS BROTHERS IN
THE AMOUNT OF $21,141 FOR LANDSCAPING AT THE FIRE
STATION AND MARGOLIS BROTHERS IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,000
FOR IRRIGATION AT THE NEW FIRE STATION AS WELL AS
ADDITIONAL CONCRETE WORK AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $1,000
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Collova suggested that an irrigation system be
installed at the City Center site.
Scalze asked if the Fire Station project is under
budget, if excess funds could be used for an irrigation
system at the City Center.
The City Administrator reported that the Economic
Development Authority was established for construction
of the new Fire Station, and he did not believe it
provided the flexibility of using funds from one
project for another. However, the Administrator
reported that he would verify this.
Hanson suggested that City staff obtain costs for
installation of a sprinkler system at the City Center.
The City Administrator reported that he would have
Margolis Brothers put together a price, however,
pointed out that installation of an irrigation system
would have to wait until the landscape plan is
completed in order that proper watering of plantings
occurs.
PAVING OF Scalze reported that the Park Commission has suggested
PIONEER PARK that paving of the Pioneer Park parking lots be
PARKING LOTS included as an alternative to the DeSoto Street
improvement project.
The City Administrator reported that the Park
Consultant was considering bidding the parking lot on
the Centerville Road side of Pioneer Park fairly soon.
The Administrator anticipated that paving of DeSoto
would not occur until mid-AUgust, therefore, the paving
of the parking lots would be delayed until then if they
are included with the DeSoto Street improvement.
Page 21
