MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 26, 1991 <br />BINGO HALL Council reviewed the application for renewal of bingo <br />hall permit for the Little Canada Binqo Hall for the <br />license period July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992. It <br />was noted that there has been a change in ownership of <br />the bingo hall. <br />The City Attorney reviewed the City Administrator's <br />June 26th memo regarding the civil lawsuit between <br />members of two of the charities operating at the Little <br />Canada Bingo Aall. The Attorney reported that staff <br />has met with members of the State's Gambling Control <br />Division, who have indicated that they will conduct <br />whatever investigation necessary relating to the <br />various charities at the bingo hall to ensure that they <br />are in compliance with State Statutes. The City <br />Attorney reported that the Gambling Control Board has <br />indicated that the situation does not effect the action <br />before the Council with regard to renewal of licenses, <br />and they recommended approval of the renewals. The <br />State has assured City staff that they are monitoring <br />the operation. <br />Blesener asked the City's authority with regard to <br />gambling license and bingo hall license applications. <br />The City Attorney replied that the City's authority is <br />for the approval of premises. <br />LaValle pointed out that the matter is a civil one and <br />there is no criminal investigation or charges being <br />made. <br />Scalze stated that it was her feeling that the matter <br />is an internal issue in the charities. <br />Blesener pointed out that the State Gambling Control <br />Board has recommended that the City go ahead and <br />approve the premise permit renewals. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-6-210 - APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />RENEWAL OF BINGO HALL LICENSE FOR THE LITTLE CANADA <br />BINGO HALL FOR THE LICENSE PERIOD JULY 1, 1991 THROUGH <br />JUNE 30, 1992 SUBJECT TO RECEIPT OF SATISFACTORY <br />SHERIFF'5 REPORTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LANDFILL Council reviewed the application for landfill permit <br />PERMIT - submitted by Mr. and Mrs. Arcilla for their property <br />641 KELLER located at 641 Keller Parkway. <br />PARKWAY <br />Page 13 <br />
