MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 26, 1991 <br />RECESS <br />MCNAMARA <br />LAWSUIT <br />PAWN SHOPS <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-6-211 - APPROVING THE LANDFILL PERMIT <br />SUBMITTED BY MR. AND MRS. ARCILLA FOR THE PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 641 KELLER PARKWAY SUBJECT TO REVIEW AND <br />APPROVAL BY THE CITY ENGINEER, CITY BUILDING INSPECTOR, <br />RAMSEY/WASHINGTON WATERSHED, DNR AND ARMY CORPS OF <br />ENGINEERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />At this point in the meeting, 9:00 P.M., Council took a <br />short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:15 P.M. <br />The City Attorney reviewed his report dated June 18, <br />1991 regarding the McNamara lawsuit and offer to the <br />City to settle the matter for $4,000. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-6-212 - AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS IN <br />CONNECTION WITH THE MCNAMARA LAWSUIT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Planner recommended that a public hearing be <br />scheduled to consider inserting pawn shops as an <br />allowable use in the City's B-3 District. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-6-213 - CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING <br />ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 24~ 1991 AT 7:30 P.M. TO CONSIDER <br />AMENDING THE ZONING CODE TO INCLUDE PAWN SHOPS AS <br />ALLOWED USE IN THE B-3 DISTRICT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, Scalze. <br />Nays (0).
