Johnson
currently a problem with li~
the industrial park glaring
has been only general
area, and reported that
park from the neighborhood
pointed out that there is
~hts from the buildings in
into the neighborhood.
Collova felt that screening will be up to the
professionals, pointing out that it will be difficult
to buffer the area since the neighborhood is so much
higher.
LaValle suggested that the buffer be along the south
line of the proposed development.
Welch reported that the purpose of the buffer is to
screen the new development from the industrial park as
much as possible. A secondary buffer for the existing
neighborhood will be the new homes that are
constructed.
Scalze pointed out that typically screening is required
for residential development from industrial, not for
residential from residential.
The City Planner felt that because of the topography,
it will be necessary to screen at the top of the ridge.
Moving screening down the hill will serve no purpose.
Welch reported that it would be possible to install
shields on the industrial park's security lighting to
keep glare out of the neighborhood.
Mr. Robert Carrier reported that he discussed this
problem with the industrial park businesses, who have
indicated that they have done as much as possible to
correct the problem.
The City Planner pointed out that the Code requires
shielding of lighting from adjacent properties.
Page 5
