MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 26, 1991
The City Administrator asked the Council's feelings for
dedication of future road connection to the industrial
park as an outlot. The Administrator pointed out that
if the property is an outlot, there is the potential
that it will go tax-forfeit and a maintenance problem
could be created. Also, if the road connection is
determined necessary in the future, the Council would
have to deal with the issue of paying for the
improvement. The Administrator felt that today would
be the time to address payment for future road
connection improvement.
Blesener stated that he did not see the road connection
being made, however, the time may come when residents
request the connection.
Scalze pointed out that the connection would be
beneficial for emergency vehicles.
The Administrator agreed that the potential is there
for emergency vehicle access, however, the connection
would likely not be maintained in the winter.
The Planner stated that the only reason for emergency
vehicle access is if Jackson Street is blocked off.
Welch pointed out that the connection could be made and
drive-over barricades installed so that emergency
vehicles can use the conneotion if they need to.
Don Rue asked if the trapezoid piece of property the
City wants as part of its park dedication could be used
by employees of the industrial park.
Scalze pointed out that once the property is dedicated
to the City it will become parkland which can be used
by anyone in the City.
Welch suggested that the City might consider trading
some property with Mr. Rue in order to qet a more
usable piece of park property.
Rue stated that he would be willing to trade the
ponding area on his property for the trapezoid piece
the Council is requiring Mr. Welch to dedicate.
Scalze felt this discussion
and suggested that the Park
possible trade.
was premature at this point
Commission review a
Welch suggested that it might be better for the City to
put the road connection in to the industrial park at
Page 7
