MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JULY 10, 1991 CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR that specifications have been changed from trap rock to a granite rock. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 91-7-229 - ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALLIED BLACKTOP IN THE AMOUNT OF 39.4 CENTS PER SQUARE YARD FOR SEALCOATING BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF PUBLIC WORKS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Hanson. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Hanson reported that Dick Boss, Jr. has indicated his desire to resign as the City's Civil Defense Director. It was the consensus of the Council that the City advertise the position and that the previous applicant for the position be contacted as well. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 91-7-230 - INSTRUCTING CITY STAFF TO ADVERTISE THE POSITION OF CIVIL DEFENSE DIRECTOR AS WELL AS CONTACT THE PREVIOUS APPLICANT FOR THE POSITION, WITH COMPENSATION FOR THE POSITION REMAINING AT THE CURRENT BUDGETED AMOUNT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Hanson. Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted. Hanson requested that Mr. Boss receive a letter of commendation for his service to the City as Civil Defense Director. RYAN DRIVE Blesener reported that in light of recent discussions about Ryan Drive, he has been researching some previous minutes. In 1988 the Council had lengthy discussion about Ryan Drive, and the property owners in the area were made well aware that the streets in Ryan Industrial Park have never been accepted by the City. It was also pointed out that the reason for this is that when those streets were constructed, they were not constructed even close to City standards. Page 14
