MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 24, 1991
CONDIT The City Administrator reported that the City has
VACATION received a petition of property owners for vacation of
a portion of the Condit Street right-of-way from Burke
Lane to the Water Works property. The adjacent
property owner is interested in the vacation so that he
can build a home on his property closer to the street.
The Park Commission has reviewed the matter and
indicated that the City should retain 15 feet of the
right-of-way for access to the Water Works property.
Mr. Collova introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-7-246 - CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
AUGUST 14, 1991 AT 7:30 P.M. TO CONSIDER THE VACATION
OF A PORTION OF CONDIT STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY LYING
BETWEEN BURKE LANE AND THE WATER WORKS PROPERTY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (3) Collova, Blesener, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
PARKING ON Blesener reviewed the recommendation of the Public
SYLVAN Works 5uperintendent regarding parking on Sylvan
STREET Street.
The City Planner reported that he has reviewed the
matter with Public Works, and it was his feeling that
no corrective action is needed at this time. If
corrective action is needed in the future, the way to
handle it would be to restrict overnight parking on
Sylvan.
Blesener asked if the apartments met City parking
requirements.
The Planner reported that Code requires each apartment
unit to have two off-street, fee-free, parking spaces.
If the owners are charging for garage space, these
spaces cannot be counted as part of parking
requirements. The Planner indicated that this
requirement is similar to what many other cities
require, however, it is common that owners charge for
garage space even if part of the parking requirement.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-7-247 - DECLARING TAAT NO ACTION BE
TAKEN AT THE PRESENT TIME WITH REGARD TO PARKING ALONG
SYLVAN STREET
Page 11
