MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 14, 1991 <br />RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:07 P.M., Council took a <br />short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:15 P.M. <br />PLAY AREA Bill Sanders, Park Consultant, reported that the City <br />BIDS obtained bids for play area construction in Pioneer <br />Park and Thunder Bay Park. The low bid received for <br />the play structure in Pioneer Park was from Arrigoni <br />Bros, in the amount of $48,500. The manufacturer of <br />the equipment is Landscape Structures. This is the <br />same equipment that is in Spooner Park. Sanders <br />recommended approval of the low bid. He also pointed <br />out that Lake Owasso Residence has donated $20,000 <br />toward the play structure since it will be <br />handicapped-accessible. The remaining funds will come <br />from the Park Development Budget. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-8-273 - AWARDING THE LOW BID OF <br />ARRIGONI BROS. IN TxE AMOUNT OF $48,500 FOR PLAY <br />STRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION IN PIONEER PARK <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Sanders reported that the low bid for play area <br />construction in Thunder Bay Park was received from <br />Odland Construction in the amount of $34,200. The <br />manufacturer is Landscape Structures. This structure <br />will be redwood given the fact that it will be located <br />within the powerline easement. $20,000 has been <br />donated by Little Canada Charities Plus for the play <br />structure, and the remaining funds will come from the <br />Park Development Budget. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-8-274 - AWARDING THE BID OF ODLAND <br />CONSTRUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF $34,200 FOR PLAY AREA <br />CONSTRUCTION IN THUNDER BAY PARK <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Hanson, Blesener, Collova. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Page 14 <br />
