MINUTES CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 28, 1991 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. EMERGENCY The City Administrator reviewed the recommendation 5ERVICES of the Fire Chief and Dick Boss for appointment of DIRECTOR Don Smiley as the City's Emergency Services Director. The recommendation was made based on their opinion that the Director should be someone from the community and their feeling that it was to the City's advantage to have the Director a member of the Fire Department from a coordination standpoint. The Fire Chief has indicated that if a catastrophic event occurs, the Director would be freed from his duties with the Fire Department. Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 91-8-298 - APPOINTING DONALD SMILEY AS THE CITY'S EMERGENCY SERVICES DIRECTOR AT A RATE OF COMPENSATION OF $100 PER MONTH The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Hanson, Blesener. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted, OLD FIRE The City Administrator reported that he is obtaining STATION additional information on potential Code violations and cost estimates for correction at the old fire station. Therefore, the Administrator recommended that a decision on the use of that building be tabled until this information is available. LANDSCAPE Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and BIDS FOR moved its adoption: CITY HALL RESOLUTION NO. 91-8-299 - AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR LANDSCAPING AT THE CITY CENTER The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Scalze, Hanson. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
