MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 9, 1991
Blesener pointed out that in 1980 the City was looking
for an easement for the pond, however, there was no
access to the pond. There is currently a cul-de-sac
that provides access to the ponding area. Blesener
felt that it was only fair that the City have control
of the pond since it is being used by the City as a
drainage area.
Scalze pointed out previous discussion with Rue
Plastics about some property they would like for
additional parking.
The City Administrator reported that Rue Plastics is
still interested in this, however, the City does not
have control over the property. The Administrator
reported that as part of preliminary plat approval for
the Yorkton Ridge West plat, the City is requiring the
dedication of this property as park land. Should that
plat be finalized, and the park land dedication made,
the City would then gain control over the land.
However, at this point the City does not have the
ability to provide the land for parking that Rue
Plastics is interested in.
Mr. Rue stated that he understands that the two issues
are not connected.
Sanders reported that the Park Commission has indicated
a willingness in the future to trade property with Rue
Plastics for the additional parking they want provided
that the Rue Plastics provides landscaping and
screening for the portion of land the City will need
for access to the Water Works.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-10-337 - INSTRUCTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR AND CITY ATTORNEY TO WORK WITH RUE
PLASTICS ON TAE DEEDING OF PROPERTY OVER TO TAE CITY
WITH TAE UNDERSTANDING THAT RUE PLASTICS WOULD BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR DRAWING UP THE DEED AS WELL AS FOR ANY
OUTSTANDING ASSESSMENTS OR PROPERTY TAXES WHICH MIGHT
EXIST ON THE PROPERTY, AND THE CITY ATTORNEY WILL
VERIFY TITLE AT CITY EXPENSE
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (4) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Page 4
