MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 11, 1991 <br />the matter can be considered by the Council at its <br />first meeting in January. <br />Blesener stated that it was his feeling that the <br />percentage of profits should go to the City rather than <br />LCRA since there are expenses to the City for <br />maintaining this building. Blesener stated that he <br />understood that the LCRA donated the buildinq, however, <br />that donation created the maintenance expenses for the <br />City. <br />Scalze suggested that the Council think about this <br />issue further. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-12-422 - REFERRING THE REQUEST OF JIM <br />OLSEN FOR OPERATION OF THE PIONEER PARK CONCESSION <br />STAND TO THE PARK COMMISSION FOR THEIR RECOMMENDATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Hanson. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Hanson, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />GAMBLING Mr. Ray Ramero, representing Marriage Encounter, Inc., <br />LICENSE appeared before the Council requesting approval of an <br />MARRIAGE Exemption from Lawful Gambling License so that this <br />ENCOUNTER organization can hold a gold plate dinner at the <br />Venetian Inn on Sunday, February 16, 1992. Ramero also <br />asked for a waiver of the City's review period. Ramero <br />explained the purpose of his organization, and the need <br />to raise funds to cover costs for those couples who <br />participate but cannot afford to pay. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-12-423 - APPROVING THE EXEMPTION FROM <br />LAWFUL GAMBLING LICENSE FOR MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER, INC. <br />FOR GOLD PLATE DINNER TO BE HELD AT THE VENETIAN INN ON <br />SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 1991 SUBJECT TO TAERE BEING NO <br />SALE OF PULL-TABS BY THIS ORGANIZATION, AND WAIVING THE <br />CITY'S 60-DAY REVIEW PERIOD <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Scalze, Hanson. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Page 15 <br />
