MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 11, 1991 <br />RECESS <br />PAWN 5HOP <br />LICENSE FEE <br />& RENEWAL <br />OF PAWN SHOP <br />LICENSE FOR <br />LINCOLN <br />PAWN <br />At this point in the meeting, 9:15 P.M., Council took a <br />short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:30 P.M. <br />Council had previously requested to review the pawn <br />license fee every six months. LaValle noted that the <br />Sheriff~s Department has reported no activity at <br />Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry since their initial <br />investigation of the business. <br />Blesener asked what kinds of reviews are being done by <br />the Sheriff's Department in conjunction with this <br />business. <br />The City Administrator reported that the initial <br />investigation done by the Sheriff's Department was <br />quite extensive, however, did not know what the <br />on-going review involved. <br />Council requested that the City Administrator contact <br />the Sheriff's Department and determine what procedures <br />are being followed to ensure that pawn shops within the <br />City remain in compliance with the City's ordinance. <br />Council reviewed the application for renewal of pawn <br />shop license for Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry for the license <br />period January 1 through December 31, 1992. <br />LaValle suggested that further review of the pawn shop <br />license fee occur on an annual basis rather than every <br />six months. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-12-424 - APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF <br />PAWN SHOP LICENSE FOR LINCOLN PAWN & JEWELRY FOR THE <br />LICENSE PERIOD JANUARY l, 1992 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, <br />1992 WITH THE STIPULATION THAT THE COUNCIL REVIEW THE <br />LICENSE FEE FOR PAWN SHOP LICENSES ON AN ANNUAL BASIS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />PROPERTY It was noted that a property division for the Mostad <br />DIVISION property has previously been approved by the Council. <br />MOSTAD The time period for filing and recording that property <br />PROPERTY division has lapsed, however, the property owner is now <br />in a position of finalizing the matter. <br />Page 16 <br />
