MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 22, 1992 <br />since the City will want to keep an area along the <br />trails mowed. The Watershed is also willing to do a <br />certain amount of other landscape restoration. The <br />extent of this restoration is what staff is discussing <br />with them. <br />The City Administrator reported that it has been <br />pointed out to the Watershed that the City is providing <br />the land at no cost for the Watershed's project in <br />Gervais Mill Park just as was done in the Owasso basin <br />project. In return, the City is asking the Watershed <br />for additional cooperation, although the City <br />understands the benefits it derives from both projects. <br />Blesener pointed out that the Watershed must remember <br />where the vast majority of water is coming from that is <br />being handled by the Owasso basin project and the one <br />planned for Gervais Mill Park. <br />The Mayor read the Arbor Day Proclamation that was <br />presented by Sanders. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 92-1-35 - APPROVING THE LCMR GRANT <br />APPLICATION FOR THE GERVAIS MILL PARK PROJECT AS <br />PRESENTED BY BILL SANDERS CONTINGENT UPON THE CHANGE IN <br />BUDGET HISTORY TO REFLECT THE CITY'S CONTRIBUTION AS <br />LAND ACQUISITION COSTS AND ELIMINATING THE ADDSTSONAL <br />NEW MONIES PROPOSED BY SANDERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />FIRE DEPT. The City Administrator presented to the Council a <br />CONTRACT revised contract with the Little Canada Fire Department <br />RENEWAL for fire protection services for 1992. The <br />Administrator outlined the changes that have been <br />requested as part of the contract by the Fire <br />Department. These included clarification of hazardous <br />material response, including the City as an additional <br />insured under the Fire Department's insurance coverage, <br />and clarification of the inclusion of capital <br />improvement items as part of the City's budget. <br />The Administrator noted that the contract is still <br />subject to approval of the general membership of the <br />Fire Department. <br />Page 7 <br />
