MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCA 25, 1992 <br />PARK Scalze pointed out that the City now has two vacancies <br />COMMISSION on the Park Commission. Scalze recommended that the <br />VACANCY second vacancy be advertised as has been the City's <br />past policy. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-3-107 - INSTRUCTING STAFF TO <br />ADVERTISE THE VACANCY ON THE PARK COMMISSION, TERM OF <br />OFFICE UNTIL DECEMBER OF 1993 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (Oj. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Council considered the applications received for the <br />Park Commission vacancy with a term of office through <br />December of 1992. Applications were received from Greg <br />Cylkowski and Dave Behles. Ballots were cast by <br />Hanson, Scalze, and LaValle in favor of Cylkowski, <br />while Blesener and Collova voted for Behles. <br />Therefore, Greg Cylkowski was appointed to the Park <br />Commission to fill a term through December of 1992. It <br />was the consensus of the Council to hold the <br />application of Dave Behles to be considered for the <br />other vacancy on the Commission. <br />ROLE OF PARK Scalze reported that she and the City Administrator <br />COMMISSION have met and drafted a proposed ordinance expanding the <br />role of Park Commission to Park and Recreation <br />Commission. Scalze also noted that the Council <br />previously set a workshop for April 8th to consider <br />this matter. It was suggested that the workshop be <br />rescheduled to May 13th to give interested parties more <br />time to review the proposal. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-3-108 - RESCHEDULING THE APRIL 8TH <br />COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING TO MAY 13TH AT 6:15 P.M. TO <br />CONSIDER THE EXPANSION OF THE ROLE OF THE PARK <br />COMMISSION TO PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Page 16 <br />
