MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 25, 1992
Sykes thought that the addition of a new house in the
neighborhood would increase property values.
Scalze pointed out that the road curves adjacent to the
Sykes house, therefore, putting all the cul-de-sac
characteristics on the one lot. This is the only
pie-shaped lot in the neighborhood, all the rest being
rectangular in shape.
There was no one from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by LaValle, seconded by Blesener, the
public hearing was closed.
Blesener noted the discussion and work that the
Planning Commission put into this proposal, and the
fact that the matter was tabled so that Mr. Sykes could
try to work out a property purchase with the landowner
to the east. Blesener also pointed out the large
separation between the Sykes home and the house to the
east.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 92-3-98 - APPROVING THE PROPERTY
DIVISION AND VARIANCE FOR MINIMUM LOT WIDTH AS
REQUESTED BY RICHARD AND VIRGINIA SYKES FOR PROPERTY AT
319 SAVAGE LANE DUE TO THE IRREGULAR SHAPE OF THE
PROPERTY AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE PROPERTY OWNER
HAD PAID FOR TWO SEWER STUBS TO THE PROPERTY WHEN THE
STREET WAS IMPROVED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Hanson, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
PUBLIC Hanson opened the Public Hearing to consider the
HEARING application made by St. Jude Medical, Inc. for rezoning
ST. JUDE of property located at 177 East County Road B from
MEDICAL single-family residential (R-1) to Planned Unit
Development (PUD), as well as a request for Planned
Unit Development to process development proposal for
65,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
Mr. Bob Burow, Architect representing St. Jude Medical,
appeared before the Council to present the development
proposal. Burow reported that St. Jude is considering
multiple sites for their proposal, one of which is in
Little Canada.
