MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 27, 1992
Collova stated that he liked the idea of teams playing
double-headers, rather than having a new team come to
the park for the late game. This would eliminate the
overlap parking problem cause by teams leaving and
arriving.
The Director pointed out that he has no control over
the league structure this year.
The Director felt that the City needed to look ahead
and add additional parking to better utilize the
Pioneer Park facility. It was suggested that this will
need to be done prior to November of this year to be
ready for the 1993 ball season.
Frattalone asked about drainage with the installation
of additional blacktop.
The Director agreed that drainaqe will have to be
considered. Again, the Director felt that his proposal
this evening will solve the short-term problems, but
stressed the need for long-term solutions.
RECESS At thi5 point in the meeting, 9:30 P.M., the Council
took a short recess. The meeting was reconvened at
9:42 P.M.
FILL PERMIT Mr. Tonga, 2480 McMenemy, appeared before the Council
2456 & 2480 requesting a fill permit so that he and his neighbor
MCMENEMY can fill a five-foot drop at their joint property line.
Council reviewed the report submitted by the Building
Official recommending approval o£ the permit and noting
that all other approvals have been obtained by the
applicants.
The City Administrator asked the completion date of the
project.
Mr. Tonqa anticipated that the filling would be
completed by October lst.
The Administrator noted the Building Official's
recommendation that the filled area be seeded within
five days of completion date. The Administrator noted
that a typical fill permit covered a six-month period,
and suggested that fill permits have a specific
completion date so that items such as seeding of the
filled area do not become issues in the future.
Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
Page 19
