MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 10, 1992 <br />that representatives of Ryan Industrial Park also be <br />invited to attend. <br />WATER Blesener reviewed the Public Works Superintendent's <br />ORDINANCE letter dated June 5th regarding the need for an <br />amendment to the City's water ordinance allowing the <br />City to maintain hydrants located on private property. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-6-195 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />TO PREPARE AN AMENDMENT TO THE WATER ORDINANCE ALLOWING <br />FOR CITY MAINTENANCE OF HYDRANTS LOCATED ON PRIVATE <br />PROPERTY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Hanson, LaValle, Collova. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />HANDICAPPED Scalze pointed out that previously the City installed <br />ACCESSIBLE a blacktop path from Garden Terrace Apartments to the <br />WALKWAY TO Market Place Shopping Center. However, the sidewalk <br />MARKET PLACE at the shopping center is not handicapped-accessible. <br />Residents at Garden Terrace are having trouble getting <br />grocery carts and wheelchairs over the curbing to <br />access the shopping center. Scalze reported that <br />Public Works has estimated approximately $400 to have a <br />contractor replace the corner sidewalk with an inclined <br />section. Public Works also estimated that they could <br />do the work for about $150. Scalze reported that she <br />has discussed this with Market Place management who <br />have indicated that they would be willing to cooperate <br />in the cost.
