MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 16, 1992
Ms. Frantzen asked when the project would begin.
The City Engineer indicated that if the project is
ordered, plans and specifications would have to be
prepared, and bids advertised for. The Engineer
estimated that after a bid is awarded, the project
would begin in September and be completed in early
fall. The Engineer indicated that the project would
not be a lengthy one to complete since there would be
no sanitary sewer and watermain to install. The
Engineer also reported that the contractor would be
required to provide daily access for the residents
along LaBore Road, and there may be only a very short
time that access would not be possible when curbs are
being poured.
Mrs. Herford asked about the curbing noting that she
had a need for handicapped accessibility to her
property.
The City Engineer indicated that he would contact Mrs.
Herford to make arrangements for additional depressed
sections in the curbing along her property as needed.
The Engineer stated that this should be included in the
plans and specifications for the project.
Ms. Frantzen asked the effect of the project on the
hill along a portion of the street.
The City Engineer replied that he does not anticipate
that street grades will change significantly. The
Engineer indicated that it will be necessary to reshape
driveways in some cases. The City Engineer informed
the public that when plans and specs are presented to
the Council, they are welcome to come and review this
information.
Blesener felt that the City has tried to be fair in
allocating the cost of this improvement, and pointed
out that most of the cost will be paid for by MSA
funds.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 92-6-202 - ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT OF
LABORE ROAD FROM DESOTO STREET TO EDGERTON STREET BY
STREET RECONSTRUCTION AND STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR THIS IMPROVEMENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Hanson, Collova.
Nays (0).
