MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 8, 1992 <br />FIRE The City Administrator reported that the Fire <br />DEPARTMENT Department has requested authority to purchase a lift <br />LIFT platform to be used in maintenance of their building. <br />PLATFORM Quotations were obtained and the low quote received is <br />from Api Supply in New Brighton in the amount of <br />$3,675. The Administrator reported that this purchase <br />can be funded from the Fire Department building fund. <br />The lift could also be used in City maintenance <br />functions. The Administrator reported that he has <br />reviewed the request and quotations, and recommends <br />approval. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-7-227 - APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A <br />LIFT PLATFORM BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FROM API SUPPLY IN <br />NEW BRIGHTON IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,675.00, WITH THE <br />PURCHASE TO BE FUNDED FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BUILDING <br />CONSTRUCTION FUND <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />AUDIT Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />WORKSHOP moved its adoption: <br />MEETING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92-7-228 - CALLING AN AUDIT WORKSHOP <br />MEETING FOR THURSDAY, JULY 16, 1992 AT 5:30 P.M. AT THE <br />CITY CENTER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Hanson. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Aanson, Collova, Blesener, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CORONET The City Administrator reported that Lots 6 through 10, <br />AGREEMENT Block 9 were recently auctioned as tax-forfeit land. <br />The property has been purchased, however, the buyer <br />wants assurances that the City will not reassess the <br />property for previously uncollected special <br />assessments. The Administrator reported that as a <br />result of the sale, the City will recover about $13,000 <br />in special assessments, however, an additional $2,000 <br />will not be recovered, and none of the accrued interest <br />will be recovered. The total amount that was <br />outstanding on the property is approximately $24,000. <br />The City Administrator reported that the problem is <br />should the City reassess the property, the buyer will <br />not follow through on the sale, and the land will <br />Page 18 <br />
