MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 8, 1992
continue to lie tax-forfeit and the City will collect
no property taxes on the property. The Administrator
reported that the agreement before the Council states
that the City will not reassess the apecial assessments
should the buyer proceed with the sale.
The City Administrator reported that he had concern
about the way the County structured the tax-forfeit
sale for this property selling each of the five small
lots separately. The Administrator felt that if the
lots had been sold as a package, the bidding at the
auction would have established a more realistic market
value. The Administrator reported that he discussed
this with the County prior to the sale. The County
agreed that the procedure was not the most
advantageous, however, felt it was to late to change it
at that point.
The Administrator reported that the buyer will attempt
to re-subdivide the property into two lots and sell
them for $17,000 each. This is the price he feels is
realistic based on recent MLS information. The
Administrator noted that should the properties sell for
more than this amount, the agreement calls for a
cost-sharing of excess profits with the City on a 50/50
basis.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 92-7-229 - APPROVING THE CORONET
AGREEMENT A5 SUBMITTED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE
THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Hanson, Scalze, Collova.
Nays (0). NSP has indicated that it cannot
waive these dues because of Public Utilities Commission
regulations. The Administrator reported that he has
written to Cellular One asking that they reimburse the
City these costs in connection with maintenance of
their service. The Administrator recommended removal
of the overhead power lines as an enhancement to the
appearance of the City Center.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
Page 19
